Convention Highlights: The convention will convene Tuesday, April 10th at 1:00 p.m. with the opening ceremony, and will close at noon Thursday following the business meeting. The Convention theme, NARFE 2012- Challenges & Opportunities - reflects the environment in which we are certain to exist for the foreseeable future. First and foremost, it is the goal of the Host Committee to make this convention, possibly the last to be hosted by District I chapters, one that will entertain, inform and challenge.

Reservations: The Convention room rate is set at $83.50 including taxes for a single or double. This rate will be available for one day before and one day after the convention for those desiring to arrive early and/or depart late. The Deadline for room reservations to guarantee the convention rate is 27 March. Members are responsible for making their own reservations directly with the Holiday Inn by calling (270) 886-4413. To obtain the convention rate you must tell them that it is for the NARFE convention. Cancellations must be made by 6:00 p.m. on the day of arrival to avoid a cancellation fee equal to one night's lodging.

Convention Registration: Will open at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday 10 April and close at 4:00 p.m. Late registration will be available Wednesday 11 April from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Registration forms with payment should be submitted through your Chapter Secretary. 

Credentials: The Delegate Credentials Forms are included in this package and should be prepared by the Chapter Secretary and returned along with the Financial Transmittal Form, the Convention Registration Forms and necessary payment. Checks should be made payable to NARFE KY 2012. Please return the entire registration package to the Convention Secretary/Treasurer (See address below.)

Raffle: Hopkinsville Chapter 1262 has accepted responsibility for the door prizes, raffle and silent auction. We would be most grateful if each chapter could donate $25, or whatever your treasury will allow, toward the purchase of prizes. Prize items donated separately at the Convention will also be gratefully accepted. The funds raised will be divided equally between Alzheimer's research and the FEEA.

Banquet:   The Convention banquet will be held Wednesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. Registration and payment in advance must be included in the registration package.

Wednesday Lunch: The Holiday Inn normally serves lunch only on Friday. However, they have offered to serve Convention participants a buffet lunch in the Legends Restaurant for $8.99 plus tax and service charge, if 50 participants sign up. There are fast food and sit-down restaurants in the area, but all would require driving and may not be practical in the time allotted. Please indicate interest in the lunch buffet on the Registration Form.

Local Events: We will send you separately a listing of some of the things to see and do in the Hopkinsville area during your visit. Much more information will be available at registration. If sufficient interest is indicated on registration forms, a golf outing can be arranged for Monday morning 9 April.
